CIF Prices of Ecuadorian red dragon fruit to Miami stand at USD 34 per 4.5kg box, while yellow dragon fruit to Vancouver stayed at USD 28 per 2.5kg box. This is mainly because the production is still low, with less than 5MT of dragon fruit per week. Starting from W39, it is expected that volumes will increase to 10MT per week, and in November, one of the biggest producers of dragon fruit forecasts that 200MT of red dragon fruit will be available. Dragon fruit production will be subjected to weather conditions since Ecuador is facing its third period of cold current La Niña, which might delay harvests. The peak harvest in November will coincide with the high season in other producing countries, which may cause a heavy drop in prices by the end of 2022.
