The price of fresh grapes in East Java, Indonesia, has continued to fall. Chinese grapes are sold for USD 11.6-12.4 per 7kg basket in the wholesale market in Indonesia in W37. This downtrend in price is caused by the existence of low-grade class red globe, the smallest size of grapes (locally called “anggur sampah”) with a market price of USD 8.38 per 7kg basket. This condition leads to a perception of the lower grape prices in general since the demand for the low-grade grapes is increasing in a price-sensitive market.
