The global prices of whole red lentil markets continued their downward trend in W2. Prices decreased around USD 30-50/ton compared the first half of January 2023. The biggest reason for this, the Australian crop has started to come into the market, and Australia will be very active and competing with Canada, while news that India’s crop is also in good shape has weakened the prospects for red lentil demand. Many traders expect prices to decrease further in 2023. The last offers from Canada and Australia origins to Turkey were; USD 720-740/tons CFR Main Ports.
