Prune shortage projected from Chile

Unexpected rainfall in the middle of the prune harvest season in Chile (January) have expected to cause a loss of 30 - 40% drop in production/exports of prunes & dried prunes during 2021 from Chile. Suppliers have been forced to raise pricing on current customers and avoid engaging new potential customers until early next year when they have a clear outlook on the new harvest potential.
