The sea surface temperatures in the Black Sea have surged to their highest levels in the past half-century. While the average seawater temperature in the Black Sea was 15.1 degrees Celsius in 1979 and 16.3 degrees Celsius in 2022, 2023 has witnessed an unprecedented rise, reaching temperatures ranging from 25 to 28 degrees Celsius.
