South Australian potato growers have been catching up to shortages since August in the domestic market due to flooding and heavy rainfall on the east coast of Australia. Production is forecasted to increase again in December 2022, and volumes for export will be available by January 2023. Overall allocation to export is forecasted to be reduced by 10% as plantings were shortened due to increased fertilizer costs and low domestic prices. Indicative prices FOB are USD 0.64- 0.70/kg (AUD 1.00-1.10/kg).
