South Africa's pear shipments for W11, saw a sharp decline in some markets, while other markets experienced an increase in shipped volumes.
In the European market, blush pears experienced a 50% increase in shipments, with 45,873 cartons shipped in W11 compared to 30,631 cartons in 2022. Brown pear shipment increased by 18%, from 144,891 cartons in 2022 to 171,371 cartons in W11. Lastly, green pears saw a 8% increase in shipments, with 186,731 cartons shipped, compared to 172,573 cartons in 2022. As for the United Kingdom, blush pear shipments saw a 52% decline, with 454 cartons shipped in W11 compared to 941 cartons for the same period in 2022. Green pears saw a 45% increase in volumes from 3,495 cartons in 2022 to 5,072 cartons in W11 of 2023.
In the Far East-Asia market, blush pears saw a 64% decline in shipments, from 31,586 cartons in W11, 2022 to 11,367 cartons in 2023. Green pears saw a 40% decline in shipments, from 135,863 cartons shipped in W11 2022 to 82,142 cartons in 2023. Lastly in the Middle-East Market, blush pear shipments declined 17% from 18,818 cartons in 2022 to 15,057 cartons in 2023. Green pears saw a 93% decline, from 9,921 cartons in W11, 2022, to 653 cartons for the same period in 2023.
