Tanzanian Government Plans To Establish USD 51,488 On Milk Processing Factory In Katavi

The Ministry of Livestock and Fishery has planned to establish TSH 120 million (USD 51,488) for a milk processing factory in Katavi.
This came in awake when more than 50% of 26.5 million L of milk produced in the Katavi region annually are wasted due to a lack of modern processing factories and a reliable and competitive market.
Available statistics show that more than 5,000L of milk is produced daily and sold on the streets. The country's annual average production of 3.4 million L of milk, but only 75 million L are processed.
