For the past few weeks, imported navel oranges from the United States have become more steady and much on the rise quantity-wise. During W8, the ports of Tokyo and Yokohama received about 75 FCL arrivals. Even though the US navels' size distributions continue to favor smaller fruits (88 or 113 pieces per carton), the demand for larger fruits (56 or 72 pieces per carton) can be satisfied by the enormous volumes of recent arrivals. Turkish navel orange sales are slowing down a little, even though there are more 56s and 72s on the market, due to their inconsistent quality and shrinking price difference against the US at less than USD10/carton.
