The price level of areca nuts as the market enters temporary close down period

The farmgate price of areca nuts in the North Sumatra province has been closed at IDR 20.000/Kg this week. The price has remained unchanged in comparison to last week at the same price level as the high-level of market demand from importing countries namely Vietnam and Thailand can still be balanced with consistent production output. Moreover, as the last export shipment schedule from North Sumatra has passed earlier this week, the loading and dispatching activities for this commodity will come to a temporary halt and is expected to resume in the second week of January 2021.
