Long An province has 11,200 hectares of lemon, with an annual production output of more than 78,000 tons. For many years, lemon has been considered as a crop of high economic efficiency for many farmers in the province. Many areas of lemon are produced according to VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards to increase exports. Currently, lemon is being purchased for 0.40 - 0.70 USD/kg, an increase of around 0.40 USD per kg compared to the price in 2019. According to the farmers, this year, lemon production had decreased by 30-40% compared to previous years due to drought and salinity and the low supply has pushed up the prices.
