As a result of the lobbying efforts of farmer groups, the Turkish Grain Board (TMO) announced that in addition to the dried figs, it will also purchase dried apricots and raisins from the farmers.

This news was welcomed by the farmers who use the Grain Board's set purchase price as a minimum price in their tree negotiations. The farmers note that the set price of the Grain Board prevents traders to drive down the price below a certain level and regulates the price levels in the market.
