Brexit is already taking its toll in Britain and other countries as well. The United Kingdom - the sixth largest exporter of oat flakes in the world - is looking for new markets to replace the lost markets in the EU. In 2020, they replaced most of Chilean oat flakes supplies to Colombia. In 2021, Brazil also replaced a Chilean supplier to a Colombian supplier but it did not last long because the British made a much more aggressive price offer, overturning Brazilian efforts to access the Colombian market. The UK's FOB price is about 12% below the Brazilian price and 20% below the Chilean price.
