Inclement weather in Southern California and Mexico, the most popular origin regions of produce import for Canada, has affected the prices of commodities such as lettuce, cauliflower, broccoli, and celery. During W10, cauliflower prices increased by 8% WoW to USD 32/kg, while asparagus prices rose by 40% from the previous week due to stunted growth and delayed harvests in Mexico. Avocado prices are comparatively low at USD 27/kg but are forecasted to increase as Mexican growers enter production.
