Vietnam's Squid and Octopus Exports Decline 13% YoY in 2023, Valued at USD 660 Million

In 2023, Vietnam's exports of squid and octopus amounted to USD 660 million, indicating a 13% year-on-year (YoY) decrease. Among the export products within this category, squid constituted 55.4%, with the remaining portion being octopus. The export value of squid reached USD 365 million, reflecting a 14% YoY decrease, while octopus exports reached USD 295 million, marking a 12% YoY decline. South Korea and Japan retained their positions as the two largest import markets for Vietnam's squid and octopus, accounting for 37% and 23% of the total, respectively. The export values to these markets were USD 247 million and USD 152 million, respectively.
