Morocco tops the list of the largest exporters of fresh raspberries to the United Kingdom

Moroccan exporters have recently increased their raspberry exports to the British market, EastFruit reports. Exports of fresh raspberries from Morocco to the United Kingdom have multiplied by 40 in the last three years and have reached 15,800 tons in the 2022/23 campaign (July-June). These volumes have brought Morocco revenues of $86 million and the status of the main supplier of fresh raspberries to the British market. Only a few years ago, Moroccan raspberries were available in the UK in tiny quantities, and exports in the 2017/18 campaign were zero. However, the situation changed after Brexit. British importers actively sought new alternative sellers, and Moroccan exporters successfully filled that niche. By the way, the United Kingdom was the fifth largest world importer of fresh raspberries in 2022.
