Leading professionals in the beekeeping industry came together in Muğla to address the damage caused by fires and propose solutions to the problems. The fires significantly affected beekeeping activities, stopping in 92 percent of the world's pine honey need areas in Turkey, causing severe damage to 11 thousand hives and beekeeping materials. The panel, which included the Turkish Beekeepers' Central Union, Muğla Province Beekeepers' Association, and the Reliable Product Platform, discussed the impact of the fire on pine honey production and the livelihoods of beekeepers. They suggested including suitable areas for pine honey production in the 3-year plantation program and creating an emergency action plan. The meeting also highlighted the need for beekeepers to focus on the production of other value-added bee products to generate income.
