Egyptian imports of tuna have seen a significant increase in the first half of 2022, rising from 110 million and 12 thousand dollars in the same period in 2021 to 155 million and 790 thousand dollars, a total increase of 45 million and 778 thousand dollars. June 2022 saw the highest increase, with tuna imports reaching 20 million and 416 thousand dollars, up from 15 million and 652 thousand dollars in the same month in 2021, a increase of 4 million and 764 thousand dollars. Overall, food commodity imports in Egypt also increased, reaching 891 million and 104 thousand dollars in June 2022, up from 868 million and 591 thousand dollars in the same period in 2021, an increase of 22 million and 531 thousand dollars.
