The Kursk branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Grain Quality Assessment Center” has conducted quality and safety tests on 116 barley samples, amounting to 174.6 thousand tons, for domestic use and export to Latvia since the beginning of 2024. The tests checked for compliance with GOST standards and safety indicators such as residual pesticides, radionuclides, mycotoxins, heavy metals, and GMOs. However, 14 samples were found to have discrepancies, including the presence of weeds, pest infestation, humidity, odor, and dry matter content.
