Mustafakemalpaşa Municipality, under the leadership of Mayor Mehmet Kanar, is reviving the traditional silkworm breeding industry, aiming to provide a significant source of income, particularly for women. In collaboration with the Bursa Koza Agricultural Sales Cooperatives Union (KOZABİRLİK), the municipality has distributed free larvae, resulting in an average income of 6,000 TL from selling cocoons within a short period. The project, which started with 25 breeders last year and has expanded, includes initiatives such as sustainable and natural agriculture, honey forest, and compost fertilizer production. The municipality welcomes citizens to engage in silkworm breeding and offers its support through the Mustafakemalpaşa Municipality Agricultural Services Directorate.
