Chairman of the Union of Chambers of Agriculture of Turkey, Şemsi Bayraktar, has expressed concerns about the imitation and adulteration of olive oil, stating that fraud should be exposed and companies closed down if necessary. Bayraktar highlighted that rising prices have led to an increase in counterfeit products and emphasized the need for measures to combat cheating and fraud. He also noted the significant decrease in olive oil production in Europe due to drought and disease, resulting in increased prices and even reports of theft prevention measures in Spain.
