Indonesian Ministry of Immigration Minister Muhammad Iftitah Sulaiman stated that China has expressed readiness to purchase Indonesian-produced durian. Iftitah stated after meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Wang Rutong on Monday that this move will help solve the sales difficulties brought about by increased productivity in immigrant areas. The cooperation between the two countries will start with the export of frozen durian and will later expand to the export of fresh durian, which is more popular in the Chinese market. In May 2025, China and Indonesia reached an agreement protocol for the export of Indonesian frozen durian to China. In December, the first batch of 48 tons of frozen durian was successfully exported to China. Currently, the main issue facing the export of Indonesian fresh durian to China is transportation time.
