So far this marketing season, the Belgians have already bought 321,000 tons of potatoes. That is considerably more than the position at the end of March 2022. The export counter then stood at 207,000 potatoes to Belgium. At that time, that was 114,000 tons less than at the end of March this year. Germany bought fewer potatoes this marketing season, which started in July 2022, than the year before. In March, 6,500 tons of Dutch potatoes went to our eastern neighbours. This brings the intermediate score to 43,000 tons, 13,000 tons less than last season (56,000 tons). France is now more than 9,000 tonnes ahead of last year in terms of purchasing. Due to the purchase of 6,700 tons of potatoes in March, the intermediate position is 40,000 tons. Last sales season that was still 32,000 tonnes at the same measurement moment. It is also noticeable within Europe that Spain is importing much more potatoes from the Netherlands this season than usual (12,000 tons).
