According to FreshFruit estimates, Peruvian exports of agricultural products in May would total US$528 million, a figure similar to that of the same month in 2021 (US$527 million). In the annual accumulated, they would reach US$ 3,364 million, which would mean an increase of 20% with respect to the previous year. It is worth mentioning that this is the second consecutive month that agricultural shipments remain stagnant. Until March, exports of fruits, vegetables and grains showed an increase of over 20% each month. However, in April, shipments of agricultural products showed a slight contraction of 2%. The results obtained this month are the product of the negative dynamics of the avocado and mandarin market, which had a joint participation of 37%. A contraction that could be offset by higher shipments of coffee and pomegranate, whose joint share was 9%.
