(Agraria.pe) From January to October of this year, Peruvian exports of aguaymanto amounted to 101 tons for US$ 842 thousand until October, which meant a growth of 5% in volume and 30% in value compared to the same period of 2021. 93% of the total shipments were dehydrated, while the rest was fresh. The price of dehydrated products reached US$ 8.3 per kilogram, showing an increase of 23% over the previous year, which explains a large part of the growth in exports. Germany, Mexico and Spain were the main destinations for this product in 2021, concentrating more than 90% of total shipments. However, so far this year, only Germany remains on the podium and is joined by Japan and the Netherlands. The German country acquired 57 tons of dehydrated golden berry for a value of US$ 510,000 in 2021, while this year it has 72 tons for US$ 674 thousand, 27% more volume with 33% more value, which consolidated it as the most important for aguaymanto exports.
