Argentina has successfully opened its pork market to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), following efforts by the Agriculture, Senasa, and Foreign Ministry. The UAE has accepted Argentina's proposal for a sanitary certificate, enabling the export of refrigerated and frozen pork. Despite the UAE being a Muslim country, it permits the importation of pork for non-Muslim residents. In 2019, the UAE imported 15,000 tons of raw meat and by-products, valued at USD 37.3 million. Meanwhile, Argentina exported 25,877 tons of pork in 2020, generating USD 55.88 million, with China being its primary market.
