In the first quarter of the year, Argentina has witnessed a remarkable surge in the exports of plums, peaches, and nectarines, totaling 7,250 tons, which represents a 130% increase compared to the same period last year and a 110% rise over the average of the last five seasons. Brazil emerges as the leading importer, contributing to nearly 80% of this growth with a staggering 180% increase in imports. Other countries like Paraguay and the United States have also seen significant import growth. Despite this export boom, the domestic market remains the primary consumer of these fruits, with exports accounting for less than 10% of total production. The 2023-2024 harvest season has been favorable, yielding high-quality fruits despite some delays.
