Researchers at the Belarusian State Agricultural Academy have bred seven new varieties of sweet peppers and tomatoes, which have passed tests and been included in the state register for production. The new varieties are focused on quality rather than yield, with an increased content of keratin, productivity, and resistance to diseases. The academy is also breeding tomato varieties with anthocyanins, powerful antioxidants. The varieties undergo tests to get into the state register and are zoned for industrial cultivation.
