Bulgarian Minister of Agriculture and Food, Georgi Tahov, has announced that Bulgaria is a leading herb exporter, both in Europe and globally, during the 'International Tea Day - 2025' in Hangzhou, China. The country has processed approximately 15,000 tons of herbs in recent years, with nearly 90% being exported. Bulgaria collects and exports over 200 types of medicinal plants, which are used in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and food industries. The minister expressed interest in increasing production and export of herbal tea and highlighted the potential for bilateral trade in tea and herbs between Bulgaria and China.
