China's increased control at Vietnam's border gates is causing delays in fruit exports, leading to congestion and affecting export procedures for other agricultural products. In the first half of the year, Vietnam saw a significant increase in exports to China, including vegetables, fruits, rice, cashew nuts, rubber, and wood products. However, China's strict controls have impacted the export of dragon fruits and other fresh fruit products. To address these issues, the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is advocating for the opening of the Chinese market to more Vietnamese agricultural products and discussing official export licenses for high-potential items. The ministry is also urging localities and businesses to complete the technical infrastructure for agricultural product quarantine at the border gates to streamline the export process.
