Colombian cocoa went from 69,040 tons in 2021 to 62,158 tons in 2022, which means a 10% drop in production, the National Federation of Cocoa trees (Fedecacao). Despite this, Fedecacao estimates that "the behavior of the crops after the 30 months of rain and the prospects for a dry season, together with the plantation renewal process, will significantly improve cocoa production for this 2023." According to the report, the lowest production months were August and September (with 3,149 and 3,039 tons, respectively), but since October production showed an upward trend, exceeding 4,000 tons thanks to the reduction of the La Niña phenomenon. Grain exports also fell, going from 11,309 tons in 2021 to 5,725 until November 2022, which translates into a 50.5% reduction.
