Corn 25/26 has maintained area and lower production

The weekly analysis by the Mato Grosso Institute of Agricultural Economics (Imea), released on Monday (2), reported that, in February 2026, the estimates for the 2025/26 corn crop in Mato Grosso were maintained in relation to the previous release. The area remains projected at 7.39 million hectares, 1.83% above the previous season, a movement associated with the higher internal demand for the cereal and the advancement of the state's exports. Regarding productivity, the institute points to a scenario of uncertainty, since the climatic conditions throughout the cycle will be determinant for the final performance. For this reason, Imea kept as a reference the average of the last three crops, estimated at 116.61 bags per hectare, 8.38% below what was observed in the previous cycle, marked by a record yield.
