Adana, known as the capital of kebab in Turkey, has seen a significant increase in daily meat consumption, reaching 80 tons, with 30 tons of bovine and 50 tons of ovine meat consumed daily. The city, home to around 250 thousand cattle and 1 million sheep and goats, is one of the leading provinces in Turkey in meat consumption. The Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry, Muhammet Ali Tekin, confirmed that there is no shortage of red meat in the city and highlighted that Adana is a major contributor to Turkey's meat production. The city has also been exporting animals recently, which is an important source of foreign currency. The Flavor Festival held in the city after the pandemic has further boosted meat consumption.
