The media center of the Damietta Port Authority issued a statement saying that the port has dealt, during the past 24 hours, with 23 container ships and general cargo. The media center added that the incoming movement of general goods included thousands of tons of various commodities, as the port received 4,446 tons of wheat, 1,234 tons of beech wood, and 4,637 tons of plywood. The port also received 3474 tons of fava beans, 1002 tons of iron, and 5,038 tons of scrap, in addition to the above 12,000 tons of corn. tons of nitrate, 1,719 tons of superphosphate, and 4,050 tons of cement. The media center stated that the total export movement from containers amounted to 314 TEUs, including vegetables (potatoes, beans, and frozen mixed vegetables), agricultural crops (eggplant, potatoes, artichokes, basil, beans, lemon, peppers, and mint), and fruits (dates, mandolin, and strawberries), where the aforementioned agricultural products are exported.
