During the first quarter of the year, the National Service of Agri-Food Health and Quality (SENASA) carried out 1,552 detections of prohibited entry products into the protected Patagonian region at airports located in the provinces of Río Negro and Neuquén. This action prevented the entry of 1,594 kg of plant-origin products and 265 kg of animal-origin products. The Argentine Patagonia has a differentiated sanitary status, being free of pests and diseases that are present in other regions of the national territory and abroad. This condition constitutes a phytosanitary asset that implies important benefits, such as the possibility of having competitive advantages to export agricultural products to the most demanding international markets.
