The article highlights the sowing patterns and challenges faced during the sowing of winter rapeseed and wheat in Ukraine for the 2025 harvest. Most of the rapeseed was sown in western Ukraine due to favorable soil moisture, whereas some farms in the east had to abandon the crop due to drought. On the other hand, wheat sowing was done across all regions, with some farms using the 'collar' method in dry soil. The article also discusses the effects of drought on rapeseed and the need for re-regulation and insecticide treatment in well-hydrated areas. It notes that winter wheat, not requiring significant soil moisture, is receiving necessary herbicides and insecticides, with no reported diseases. The article also touches on the benefits of no-till sowing for winter rape and the importance of nutrient supply and top dressing for both crops.
