According to Ahmet Hamdi Gürdoğan, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters Association, honey exports from the Eastern Black Sea region increased significantly compared to the previous year. In the first eight months of the year, 734 tons of honey worth $2.1 million were exported, a 63% increase in quantity and a 90% increase in value. The United States, Israel, and Saudi Arabia were the top destinations for honey exports from the region.
