The European Union's soybean imports for the 2024/25 season have decreased by 5% to 2.45 million tonnes, while rapeseed imports have increased by 46% to 0.94 million tonnes. Soybean meal imports have also risen by 7% to 3.32 million tonnes. Palm oil imports, on the other hand, have decreased by 44% to 0.45 million tonnes. Meanwhile, soft wheat exports have seen a 23% decrease to 4.82 million metric tonnes and barley exports have decreased by 34% to 1.32 million tonnes. The leading exporter of soft wheat to the EU this season was Romania, followed by Lithuania and Bulgaria. However, export data from France, Bulgaria, and Ireland is incomplete.
