The EU has opened up its market to the export of domestic heat-treated poultry products from Korea, including samgyetang, dumplings, and frozen chicken, which is expected to result in an additional $20 million in annual exports. This comes after years of negotiations and improvements to meet EU requirements, including the introduction of the HACCP system and improvements to the surveillance and quarantine system for avian influenza. The Korean government plans to further support the export of K-Food, including heat-treated poultry products, and to expand the export of domestic agricultural and livestock products to more countries.
