In 2020, Peruvian exports saw a decrease of -15.3%, totaling US $ 39,351 million 154 thousand, as reported by the Association of Exporters (ADEX), reflecting the impact of the pandemic and restriction measures globally. Despite the overall decline, the agribusiness sector experienced growth, with traditional exports, excluding mining, experiencing a decrease of -19%, and non-traditional exports, mainly agricultural-agroindustrial products like grapes and blueberries, seeing an 8.2% growth. The US, the Netherlands, and Chile were the leading markets for these exports. The fluctuation in the Agrarian Promotion Law and the pandemic continue to affect export dynamics, with a potential for recovery to pre-crisis levels in 2022.
