The federal government, in partnership with the Cross River State Government, has subsidized inputs for 500 farmers in Obudu Local Government Area to produce 500 metric tonnes of wheat. The government contributes 75% of the funding, with the state providing 25%, and the land preparation is fully funded by the state. Each farmer receives input, including fertilizers, improved seeds, and agro chemicals. The wheat cultivation is part of the National Agricultural Growth Scheme and Agro-Pocket (NAGS-AP) programme, with expectations to harvest between 85 to 90 days.
