Festicamélidos Cusco 2025 positions itself as the most important showcase for the entire production chain of South American camelids. The event, organized by the Regional Government of Cusco through the Alpacas Project, has established itself as a key economic and cultural platform for more than 25,000 families dedicated to the breeding of alpacas, llamas, and vicuñas. This year, the festival marked a special technical milestone: for the first time, all participating specimens—over 600 alpacas and 250 llamas—in addition to the presence of the vicuña “Amaru,” authorized by the National Forest and Wildlife Service (Serfor), had a national genetic registry.
