Between January and July of this year, Peru experienced a significant decrease in fig exports, with a drop from 1.84,200 kilos valued at $6,163,159 in 2020 to 615,131 kilos valued at $3,479,716 in 2021. The majority of these exports, 49%, were shipped to the Netherlands. Other destination countries included the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, the United States, Hong Kong, and France. The main company responsible for these exports was Exportadora Frutícola del Sur SA, with Fundo La Kiarita SAC, EIRL Autumn Fruits, and Proapex SAC also contributing to the figures.
