The artisanal fishing vessel “Fernanda”, belonging to fisherman Herbert Ríos Villacorta, obtained the sanitary approval granted by the National Authority for Food Safety and Aquaculture (Sanipes), becoming the first artisanal fishing vessel in the Peruvian Amazon with a hygienically approved insulated hold, a prototype developed by the CITEproductivo Pucallpa of the Technological Institute of Production (ITP). The sanitary approval, identified with the code PTH- 0750-2026-Sanipes, has an indefinite validity from March 25, 2026, after verifying compliance with the requirements established in the sanitary regulations applicable to artisanal fishing vessels.
