Cullera, a town in the Ribera Baixa region, is leading the outdoor pumpkin cultivation in Valencia and nationally, with a cultivation area of about 300 hectares. There are around 10 professional farmers dedicated to this crop, which is available in five varieties. The production starts with the organically grown potimarrón, 80% of which is exported, while the rest is sold domestically. The town is also exploring the possibility of supplying the confectionery industry with a larger harvest, provided the ongoing tests are positive.
