Egypt is working to increase its export rates and is focusing on developing and improving lakes to boost fish wealth. The country has achieved 85% self-sufficiency in fish production. Fish prices in the market vary, with different types ranging from 90 to 770 pounds per kilo. The majority of fish production in Egypt comes from fish farms, accounting for 79.7% of the total production. Other sources of fish include lakes, shrimp production, and seawater and freshwater.
