In a significant logistical operation in mid-March, the MSC Japan container ship transported nearly 24 thousand tons of frozen blueberries from Tucumán, Argentina, to Canada. This operation involved a multi-step process where the cargo was first delivered to a logistics operator in Mendoza, Argentina, consolidated in Tucumán, and then moved to Coquimbo, Chile, via the San Francisco Pass for necessary controls, before finally departing from Puerto Coquimbo Terminal's Site 3. This route, serving as an alternative to the often-closed Los Libertadores Pass, opens up a new corridor for Argentine exporters to access Pacific, Asian, and North American markets, proving particularly advantageous for the citrus season.
