The olive production and processing sector in Georgia is experiencing growth and gaining recognition in both domestic and international markets, according to Georgiy Svanidze, the head of the International Olive Council. This growth has been achieved in stages, starting with the planting of seedlings, the establishment of processing plants, and the acquisition of international certificates that allow Georgian olives to be sold in any country. Currently, olives are cultivated in 47 countries and there is high demand for the Georgian product due to its quality.
