The production of sunflower in the world for the 2025-2026 agricultural season, starting on September 1, is expected to increase by over 7% (by 4.2 million tons) compared to the current season, which registered the lowest performance in the last 4 seasons, reaching 59.3 million tons, according to forecasts by experts at the authoritative German market analysis and forecast company Oil World, cited by the electronic edition APK-Inform. The sunflower harvest in the Black Sea region will recover, but it will still not meet initial expectations. In June and early July, the weather was too hot and dry in many of the main producing countries, including parts of Ukraine, as well as Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania, and Turkey. For Ukraine, the forecast is for a harvest increase of about 35% compared to the current season to 13.5 million tons, but still quite below the 15.5 million tons harvested in the 2023-2024 season.
