Livestock farmers in Vietnam's Phuoc Minh commune are facing challenges as traders refuse to buy goats due to a surge in supply and reduced prices. The price of goats and sheep has dropped by 15,000 to 20,000 VND/kg compared to a month ago, resulting in difficulties for farmers. Ninh Thuan province, home to over 250,000 goats and sheep, is grappling with this issue, especially due to the economic crisis, limited income, and competition from cheaper Thai products. The situation is further complicated by the self-sufficiency of the North in raising its own livestock and the protection of geographical indications for Ninh Thuan's lamb products.
